The Albanese government is forging ahead with mandatory COVID-19 testing for arrivals from China, even as Beijing labelled the move unnecessary and the opposition accused the government of creating “chaos and confusion” by overruling the advice of the nation’s chief medical officer.

Eliza Edwards, Nine News Political Editor told 6PR Mornings that the restrictions has sparked an angry reaction from China.

“They’re really angry about how countries, including Australia, have handled the massive Covid outbreak in China – they have basically said we are being singled out here when there is Covid everywhere,” Ms Edwards said.
