A man aged in his 50s is in hospital after being attacked by teenagers on a Perth bus.

Police say they believe the incident occurred between 3:00pm and 3:10pm on Monday afternoon in Belmont.

After being assaulted, the man went home where he called an ambulance.

He was taken to Royal Perth Hospital.

Detectives investigating the assault are working with the Public Transport Authority to identify those people involved.
