Man charged trying to scam $58 thousand from 93-year-old woman
Detectives have charged a 25-year-old Victorian man with fraud offences after he allegedly attempted to scam a 93-year-old Perth woman out of 58-thousand dollars.
Police say the victim received several phone calls in late June from the man, claiming to be investigating scammers who were attempting to hack her bank accounts.
The accused allegedly then attended the woman’s home to collect the money he had asked her to withdraw, and was arrested shortly after.
