A man has been charged following a ram raid at a Thornlie bank.

Police say the 29-year-old smashed his car into the Westpac branch on the corner of Thornlie Avenue and Spencer Road yesterday morning, injuring two staff members.

He was arrested a couple of hours later at a home in Canning Vale.

The man has been charged with criminal damage and endangering life.

He is due to appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court today.
