Online wagering companies will be forced to remove the phrase “gamble responsibly” by March next year.

The companies will be required to use phrases which promote the consequences of betting.

Monash University gambling researcher Dr Charles Livingstone told 6PR Mornings host Liam Bartlet the only way to stop gambling is by enforcing restrictions.

“You don’t change the way people consume dangerous products until you start changing the conditions under which it can be consumed,” said Dr Livingstone.
