Lucky coincidence saves WA hockey captain after collapsing mid-game

When a West Australian hockey captain collapsed on the turf without any vital signs, an incredibly lucky lifesaving mission occurred.
Fortunately, a team member was the boss of a global acute trauma business and was there to resuscitate the man.
Founder of Emergency Triage Services, Michael Henderson, told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast that one of his trauma doctors was also there.
“We were just about to go back on the field, and (the captain) collapsed,” he said.
“Incredibly lucky that a fellow of the Australian College of Emergency Medicine, Dave Mountain, was there,
“He was able to do the cardiac compressions, and I did the mouth-to-mouth,
“The result was an amazing result given where we were with our captain.”
