Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas says he has not been briefed about a potential terror threat, despite it being reportedly used as a reason by the AFL to cancel the traditional Grand Final parade.

“Look, I personally have not (been briefed),” he told Millsy on 6PR.

“We were of the view … that we could conduct a parade safely here.

“There’s no extreme or extra alert that I have been made aware of … we all thought we could conduct a parade safely

“However, the AFL have chosen a conservative path, that’s their right.”
