Lord Mayor feels the heat after CCC findings
Perth Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi is refusing to stand down from her role, despite being found to have engaged in misconduct by WA’s corruption watchdog.
Ms Scaffidi maintains she can continue as Mayor, with the Corruption and Crime Commission finding she did not act corruptly by failing to disclose gifts and travel payments in 2008 and 2009.
Premier Colin Barnett concedes he doesn’t believe Ms Scaffidi should have accepted the BHP funded trip to the Beijing Olympics, but has stopped short of calling for her resignation.
Geof Parry spoke to the Lord Mayor and the Premier on 6PR Mornings.
