The Dental Association of Australia is leaning on the Federal Government to bring about a “massive overhaul” of the national dental system, which they say is falling prey to growing inequality.

ADA President Scott Davis told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings there are ever-increasing numbers of people avoiding dental  check-ups because many can’t afford it, even with insurance.

“People are already struggling to pay for food, pay for fuel, pay for energy bills; this is just another bill,” Dr Davis said.

“Our mission is to find those most vulnerable groups and target them first while we are still having this wide-ranging discussion.”
