A serial sex pest with a history of abusing children has been jailed for 8 months for indecently assaulting a woman outside a Scarborough shopping centre.

Forty four-year-old Cameron Brock Williams was sentenced yesterday; he was serving a suspended sentence for assaulting a neighbour when he committed the latest offence.

Local residents “Sarah” and “Peter” shared their concerns with Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings, saying they are dismayed they weren’t made aware of William’s presence in the community before he was arrested.

“This guy has got to be accountable for his actions, and his actions are not suitable in our society,” Peter said.

UPDATE: The Department of Communities has released the following statement in relation to Cameron Brock Williams:

“The community housing provider has spoken with Mr Williams’ support provider and confirmed that he will not be returning to this property.

Both Sarah and Peter told Gary Adshead they were very relieved by the news.
