Local beef farmer’s plea to ban travel between Australia and Indonesia

An outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease on Indonesia’s main island of Java has spread to the popular tourist island of Bali, which is visited by more than 1 million Australians a year, ramping up the risk of a first-ever outbreak Down Under.
Mike Walmsley, Shire President of Waroona and beef farmer, is calling for a ban on travel between Australia and Indonesia to prevent the disease reaching our shores .
