An orangutan at Perth Zoo has been caught on video picking up a possum and launching it out of its enclosure.

Matthew and his four-year-old daughter Polly happened to be walking past the orangutan enclosure and saw the brutal event as it happened.

“I could tell something was about to happen so I wasn’t sure if I should have walked off with my four-year-old or not,” Michael said.

“Before I knew it the possum was biffed straight over the fence: I was almost crying with laughter and Polly was the same.”
