A newly formed group of disenchanted WA Liberal Party members are demanding upper house Liberal MPs Nick Goiran and Peter Collier immediately resign.

Goiran and Collier were part of the Liberal breakaway group known as “The Clan”.

Leaked WhatsApp messages from The Clan revealed a culture of branch stacking and power-wielding from a select few Liberal members.

Now, a group of Liberal Party members including some notable figures from the past joined together to form the Liberal Reform Coalition.

Last night they passed a motion at the groups inaugural meeting calling on Nick Goiran and Collier to resign.

“There’s a fairly strong feeling amongst the members there that something has to be done,” Former Liberal Party State President Norman Moore said to 6PR Mornings.

“It is our view that they would be doing the right thing by the party, based on their behaviour in the past, if they resigned and let us get on with the job of being a good opposition and fighting an election coming up at the federal level.

“So they could do us all a big favour by getting out of the place.

“Because quite frankly they are the people who have led that is referred to in the report and in the WhatsApp chat that has brought the party into disrepute.”
