Bartlett takes aim at ‘captains of hypocrisy’ over AFLW exemptions

The outrage at the WA government’s decision to grant exemptions to AFLW players this weekend has also outraged Liam Bartlett.
The 6PR Mornings host joined his Breakfast colleague Gareth Parker in expressing absolute dismay at the decision to allow players from Victoria into the state.
“The captains of hypocrisy have decided that those who kick a footy better than most are, well, better than most,” Bartlett told listeners this morning.
“Those players from Victoria will bump and shove, wrap their sweaty arms around their opposition players, breathing all over each other and sharing bodily fluids, and all that goes with contact sport.
“Those WA players are of course then free to go to a cafe or pub, or a shop or whatever you like on Monday, when the bubble players fly home.
“Does that make sense to you?
“Again though, one rule for West Aussies under the loose heading of ‘medical advice’, and another rule for sportings teams under another rule, invisible advice.”
Bartlett reeled off a roll call of AFL players and coaches who had breached WA’s COVID rules while here in the state in the past two years.
