Despite Geelong’s loss, Schoey praised WA born Lawson Humphries, suggesting he was one of Geelong’s standout players.

Ross further discussed Lawson’s performance and career trajectory, including the benefits of being a mature-age recruit.

“Last year all the kids that were drafted were 18 year olds and just talking around the club they just said it’s a big difference between the two groups because the guys who are 18 just didn’t have a sort of few mature heads amongst them,” he said.
