Latest maternity ward closure puts more pressure on deteriorating WA health system
Another private maternity service in WA is shutting down – Saint John of God has confirmed its Bunbury campus won’t be available to expectant parents from July.
Staff shortages and cost cutting have led to a number of hospitals removing their obstetric wards in the past twelve months.

There are now only four private hospital options in the metropolitan area and Mandurah – and Saint John of God Geraldton will become the only regional maternity campus in the state.
