Kennett sounds the death knell on Melbourne’s claim to fame

Article image for Kennett sounds the death knell on Melbourne’s claim to fame

Jeff Kennett says Dan Andrews has trashed Victoria’s  reputation “to some degree” by axing the Commonwealth Games.

The former Victorian Premier told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings the state had spent decades building a reputation as a sports and culture capital, a notion now under jeopardy.

“He has, for the first time, caused that claim to be questioned,” Mr Kennett said

“It certainly means that many organisations will have second thoughts about doing deals with this government in the future.”
