Sports nuffy and 6PR Breakfast co-host Karl Langdon thought the Socceroos would struggle to score a goal in the entire World Cup tournament in Qatar.

He was proven wrong, just nine minutes into their opening game against reigning champions France, who later put the pedal to the metal, overpowering Graham Arnold’s men for a dominant 4-1 win.

“We looked pretty disorganised down back… France went to town on us unfortunately,” Wide World of Sports journalist Sam McLure told Langdon and co-host Steve Mills from Qatar.

Australia must beat Tunisia on Saturday afternoon and then Denmark next week to likely progress to the final 16.
