A significant surge in used syringes has been recorded in Kalgoorlie, with Council staff now collecting an average of 20 to 28 syringes daily.

Glenn Wilson, Mayor of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, explained to Perth Today host Simon Beaumont that as meth users become more brazen, residents are feeling increasingly unsafe.

“Walking to school, walking past syringes, going to play in playgrounds there’s syringes that are in there,” he said.
