It’s official, Glen Jakovich has been named Chairman of Selectors for the State of Origin.

AFL CEO Andrew Dillon, just two days prior, cited Jako’s passion for the game as the reason he was perfect for the role.

Jako discussed the State of Origin and his new position with Perth Today host Simon Beaumont, stating,

“It’s a great privilege, it’s an honour and just with my communications with some of the players that we’re going to be looking to bring into the squad it’s like a childhood dream for them,”

Gary Lions has been appointed Victorian chairman of selectors.
