Senator for the Northern Territory, Jacinta Price, has accused the “anti-racist movement” of burying their heads in the sand when it comes to issues affecting remote communities.

It comes after a Supreme Court Judge in Darwin, Justice Judith Kelly, said there was an epidemic of violence suffered by indigenous women in the Northern Territory at the hand of their partners earlier this year.

Senator Price said Ms Kelly is “absolutely correct”.

“It’s something that I’ve been trying to bring to the attention of the Australian people for some time now.

“It’s this anti-racist movement which is denying what’s going on in remote communities, it’s denying the voices of victims to be heard, it’s the reason why there’s a continuation of violence”.
