‘It’s unfair’: Why changes to the Perth Parking Levy aren’t welcome

Jamie Burnett

The State Government has announced the Perth Parking Levy will now be allowed to be spent on local initiatives or projects deemed to have a positive impact on Perth.

The levy is a $1000 tax per car bay in the city which has accumulated almost $200 million.

Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live this change is unfair to Perth taxpayers.

“I’m very disappointed… on behalf of city of Perth ratepayers and property owners,” said the Lord Mayor.
