From essential oils to specific catch-phrases, there’s a lot of nonsense out there about how to attract a partner.

But new research suggests an often-maligned aspect of courting – your clothes – might be more important than you think.

Karl Kruszelnicki told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast there isn’t too much scientific research on how your clothes and eye colour work together to make you more presentable, but that he went to the top of the chain to find out.

“My daughter is a senior designer, so I rang her and asked her what’s up, but I would like to see what the actual research is instead of hearing it from Fred on Facebook,” Dr Karl said.
