The program’s relationship expert John Aiken spoke to Liam Bartlett on 6PR Mornings about how working on the show has changed over the last nine years.

He said this season was sure to provide some heated and fiery confrontations, something he doesn’t shy away from.

“I have developed a thick skin over the years,” he said.

“When we have those commitment ceremonies, the participants really come after us, and we go after them and call out bad behaviour. And I’ve actually really loved that harder line approach.”We’re not entirely sure what (the participants) are going to be like when the cameras roll. So sometimes the quieter people blow up big, and the big personalities shrink.”

Married at First Sight returns tonight from 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
