There is a concern, ageism is not being taken seriously in Australia. 

While sexism and racism are heavily frowned upon in society, there is concern the older population is being discriminated against due to their age.

CEO Council of the Ageing (COTA) Patricia Sparrow told 6PR Mornings there is a need for an attitude shift as a society.

“It’s about attitude change and people seeing everyone as an individual,” said Ms Sparrow.
