Fame and Flashdance star Irene Cara has passed away at age 63, her cause of death unknown.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford  told 6PR Breakfast hosts Steve Mills and Karl Langdon she was “taken too soon.”

Mr Ford also confirmed Leigh Sales will be heading back to the ABC as the Australian Story host.
