An independent panel has been selected to review the state government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Former Liberal Health Minister John Day, Professor Margaret Sears, and economic expert Dr Michael Shaper will make up the panel conducting the review.

Intensive Care Specialist Dr Luke Torre told 6PR Perth Live WA’s health system survived the pandemic due to its high standard.

“We have been stressed, but we have not buckled… this is why we have had such a good outcome,” said Dr Torre.

“We have a very good system.”

Former Deputy Chief Health Officer Dr Nick Coatsworth told 6PR Perth Live is concerned panel members may not provide a neutral report.

“Is the panel going to take an honest review?” said Dr Coatsworth.
