A WA inventor says he’s invented a game changer for fishing enthusiasts around the world.

Rpelx founder David Smith developed a shark repellant device for surfers around 10 years ago, and has adapted the technology into a fishing lure which he claims attracts fish while keeping sharks away.

Mr Smith told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast he’s been travelling the country to test the lure out in a range of fishing hotspots.

“The more sharks the better; we get straight in there and pull them out with the sharks in hot pursuit, but we haven’t lost a fish this year,” Mr Smith said.
