An inquiry into workplace deaths in the agricultural industry is getting underway in Albany.

14 people have died on WA farms in the past 18 months. 

WorkSafe Commissioner Darren Kavanagh told 6PR Mornings that figure is too high. 

“The agriculture industry over the years we’ve been in the top three for fatality statistics across all states and territories,” he told Liam Bartlett.

“The history in the agriculture industry hasn’t been good,

“In WA we’ve just seen a significant increase in that number.”
