A Judicial Commission is being established, allowing members of the public to lodge complaints regarding the behaviour of judges and magistrates.

WA Attorney-General Tony Buti told 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont that the nine-member Judicial Commission’s role is to investigate complaints about judges, not to interfere in sentencing.

“More serious matters, the Commission can set up an investigatory panel which have powers similar to a royal commission to investigate the complaint”, he said.
