Five days after calling 6PR Breakfast in tears after her dog jumped out of her son’s car window at a Kalamunda service station and disappeared after being hit by a car, Tonka has come home.

A jubilant Anita told Breakfast fill-in host Michael Genovese on Tuesday that Tonka was a little injured and had lost a lot of weight but was back home and “so over the moon”.

“It’s been a week today, so my son rang me at 6am this morning… he was found at St Brigids, and he was living in an al fresco area, and the residents there told [son] Chris that their security lights kept coming on every night, and that doesn’t usually happen,” she said.

“Anyway Chris went down there and took all his bedding and everything that smells like Tonka, his squeaky toys and all that.

“I’m just beside myself… I want to say a huge thank you to 6PR for putting this on and a huge thank you to the people of Kalamunda.”
