Incoming governor-general set to receive annual salary of $709,000
The incoming Governor-General Sam Mostyn is set to receive a pay rise of around $215,000, equating to 43 per cent more than her predecessor David Hurley.

The Government have argued that while Mostyn is from the private sector, many governors-general have come from areas such as the military or judiciary, from which they drew comfortable pensions, and in which case their salary was adjusted down.
