There are fresh calls for a second youth detention facility to be built in WA, following the latest inspection of Banksia Hill Detention Centre.

A report by the Inspector of Custodial Services highlights 10 recommendations, to address behaviour management, staffing and training.

Inspector of Custodial Services Eamon Ryan spoke with Oliver Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live.

“The center was largely under confinement orders, we didn’t see too many young people out and about,” Inspector Ryan said.
