Iconic Freo brewery narrowly avoids catastrophic damage

WA brewer, Gage Roads has thanked a group of tug boat operators for preventing a large container ship from crashing into the company’s portside Fremantle venue.

Beloved Perth sailing vessel the Leeuwin suffered extensive damage on Friday after being struck by the bow of a 332-metre ship during wild weather.

Aaron Heary from Gage Roads told Jamie Burnett on 6PR weekends about the lucky escape.
