How will the Eagles cope without Nic Naitanui?

Mark Readings & 6PR Football

West Coast will unveil four debutants in their season opener against North Melbourne on Saturday morning as ruckman Nic Naitanui is ruled out of round one.

Reuben Ginbey, Campbell Chesser and Noah Long will play their first AFL game,  while recruit Jayden Hunt will wear Eagles colours for the first time after moving from the Demons.

WWOS hosts Adam Papalia and Will Schofield discussed Naitanui skills as a player and how the Eagles will cope without him.

Naitanui won’t be there as he continues his battle with Achilles soreness, which Schofield said was evident when the cones came out earlier this week.

“It’s about the way their body holds up… there is not much you can do about it,” said Schofield.

“He’s given plenty.”
