David Craik, from the Institute for Molecular Bioscience at The University of Queensland, explained to Breakfast show hosts Millsy and Karl that functional foods containing therapeutic peptides are fast becoming a reality.

“We’ve now worked out how to trick other plants into making these sorts of peptides where we can turn them into therapeutics,” he said.
