How anti-obesity drugs are shrinking Australia

New medication to tackle obesity is proving the disease is more complicated than unhealthy eating.
Drugs such as Ozempic and Wegovy are creating incredible levels of weight loss in a bid to tackle Australia’s growing obesity crisis.
Obesity researcher at Monash University and editor of the academic journal, Obesity Reviews Professor Brian Oldfield told 6PR Afternoons obesity is a serious issue in Australia.
“About a third of our population is obese,” said Professor Oldfield.
“It’s more normal… to be overweight.”
