The details around the attack which has left a young Success woman with serious injuries has raised concerns over domestic dogs, including breeding and training.

Police had to shoot one of two Rottweilers owned by 31-year-old Nikita Pill in a last-ditch effort to stop them mauling her.

Professional Dog Trainers Australia owner Jacqui Zakar told Jamie Burnett on 6PR Mornings trying to prevent similar attacks based on breed is too specific to make a real difference.

“It just doesn’t work; it hasn’t worked with banning American pitbull terriers, it hasn’t reduced bite statistics and in fact they are increasing,” Ms Zakar said.
