Russian forces have been targeting civilians who have been trying to flee from the outskirts of Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv. 

The Ukrainian military claims pro-Russia forces are shelling a humanitarian corridor for people to escape.

Channel Nine News reporter Amelia Adamas told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast that the situation, particularly in Kyiv, has worsened over the last two days.

“We’ve seen some of the most horrific scenes I think that we’ve seen here in the last ten days of war,” she said.

“For the second time in 24 hours, that ceasefire didn’t happen. The fighting is constant no one got out, no aid got in. So it’s a really, really dire situation.”
