Heavy interest in World Cup packages after Socceroos qualify

Australia’s shock qualification for the 2022 World Cup later this year in Qatar gives people a chance to see a country they normally wouldn’t.
Callum Chambers, a specialist sports agent with Travel and Sports Australia based in Perth, said it was hard to say how many West Australians would book flights to Qatar to see the Socceroos in action, but their qualification has given people a chance to see a part of the world they normally wouldn’t visit.
“The packages are often set up by a lot of the airlines that are the major sponsors [of the tournament],” he told Millsy at Midday host Steve Mills.
Chambers said Dockers fans had recently been flooding their office with correspondence after a strong start to the AFL season.
TSA had more than 1000 emails in the past month from Fremantle supporters “surveying the territory, see what’s happening” regarding AFL Grand Final packages.
“I tell you what, after the last couple of weeks, they’ve taken some big scalps, so their supporters areĀ up and about, that’s for sure,” he told Mills.
