London is in the midst of a potentially dangerous heatwave that’s also spreading across western Europe, with little relief in sight.

Temperatures in the UK capital are consistently topping 30 degrees, with the record temperature of 38.7 degrees in Cambridge set to broken.

“There’s a range of forecasts for this weekend, but one of them suggests on Sunday or Monday we could reach 40 degrees,” UK correspondent Enda Brady told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast.

“Everyone is struggling in the heat and there’s a long, hot troublesome week of travel ahead.”
