New research has found just one in four people are getting the required 150 minutes of exercise a week.

The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute found Australians are more at risk of having heart attacks or stroke due to the lack of exercise.

Institute Director Professor Jason Kovacic told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast says the guidelines to activities are not that demanding.

“Our team of experts took a deep dive on all the things related to exercise, the heart and our bodies and how it all works and what the benefits are and how we can maximise the opportunities for improving heart health across our society,” he said.
