Perth Zoo’s Inkosi the giraffe is on an adventure of a lifetime, traveling across the Nullarbor to its new home at Monarto Safari Park in South Australia.

The three-year-old is being moved as part of a regional breeding program to help save the endangered species.

Environment and climate change minister Reece Whitby told 6PR Breakfast host Gareth Parker how the program is integral to saving giraffes.

“We’ve lost about 40 percent of them in the wild in the last 30 years,” said Mr Whitby.
