Troy West, a trained makeup artist, explained to 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Karl that his transformation into Catman takes 3 hours, a tradition that began at the 1992 Grand Final when Karl’s West Coast team played against Geelong.
‘My dad played for Geelong, he was a premiership player in the 60s so they did an exhibition match over in Hawaii against Melbourne football club and he had a blazer and I unpicked a little emblem off it and I stuck it on a denim jacket and it just absolutely grew from that,’ he said.
