Gary Adshead blasts PM over plan to parachute Gladys Berejiklian into federal seat

6PR Mornings presenter Gary Adshead has slammed Prime Minister Scott Morrison for promoting former NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian as a potential candidate at the next federal election.
Ms Berejiklian is currently facing serious questions at an ICAC inquiry over her dealings with her ex-partner, disgraced former NSW MP Daryl Maguire.
Those questions were enough to trigger her resignation earlier this year, but Morrison told reporters on Monday that he would welcome Berejiklian into his team, and it would be “great” if she ran in the federal seat of Warringah.
The moderately-liberal seat is current held by independent Zali Steggall, who turfed out Tony Abbott in the 2019 federal election after he had held the seat since 1994.
“If you need any more evidence that Canberra has lost it’s moral and ethical compass, look no further than the Prime Minister’s decision to promote Gladys Berejiklian as a candidate for the next federal election,” Gary Adshead said on 6PR Mornings.
“If you ever you doubted that politicians, in this case the most powerful politician in the land, will do whatever it takes to win power, or stay in office, then the last 24 hours if proof.
“Gladys Berejiklian is slap-bang in the middle of a corruption inquiry by the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption.
“This is a live inquiry, the findings are a way off, Gladys Berejiklian has a long black cloud hanging over her head right now”.
