From Manjimup to WA’s first female Liberal leader: Liza Harvey’s backstory is unmatched
Born in Manjimup as the daughter of a surveyor, Liza Harvey’s journey to WA’s first female Deputy Premier and Leader of the Liberal Party is unmatched.
Ms Harvey joined Ian Blackley on 6PR’s Backstories and recalled her journey from Manjimup to life in university (including a surreal run-in with Bob Hawke), to her days at Qantas, becoming a businesswoman and a political trailblazer.
Harvey also reflected on the tragic passing of her late husband Hal to pancreatic cancer and her fight to increase research into treatments.
