From isolation to inspiration: Ebony’s wheelchair basketball career
Sixteen-year-old Perth schoolgirl Ebony Stevenson, the current WAIS Young Athlete of the Year, plays wheelchair basketball for Australia and is about to head to Spain with the Gliders for their final opportunity to qualify for the world championship.

Ebony told 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Karl that she was born able-bodied but had a spinal stroke when she was eight, and initially found it difficult to adjust to her disability until she was inspired by the Paralympics.
“I was gobsmacked, I was like OK you can do stuff with having a disability”, she said.
