Fremantle City officers have proposed a ban on dogs within five metres of every playground and play space across the council boundaries.

Fremantle Mayor Ben Lawver explained to 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Karl that the proposal is open for public comment, and suggested a compromise where only some areas prohibit dogs.

“The blanket nature of what’s being proposed has some people concerned,” he said.
