As the Fremantle cafe strip turns entirely purple ahead of the AFL grand final, Fremantle Chamber of Commerce chief executive Chrissie Maus has expressed outrage over plans to bypass the port city for celebrations if the Dockers take home the cup.

Maus told 6PR Drive host Jamie Burnett that hosting official festivities in Cockburn ignores the club’s roots.

“You’ve got to remember, this is their spiritual home, and just because they play in a boring concrete jungle out in Cockburn … they owe it to their people to celebrate with us in Freo, because it’s in their name!” Maus said.
