Jamie Burnett

Faf du Plessis, South African batsman has joined the Perth Scorchers as a late signing.

The former South African cricket captain will be available for the first seven matches of the Big Bash as a temporary replacement for Laurie Evans.

“14 months or so ago I texted Mitch Marsh and I said look I just retired from test cricket how about that scorchers gig,” Faf du Plessis told Perth Live host Oliver Peterson.

“Adam Voges, I know him from back in the day from playing against him, so it’s nice playing under him now as the coach – he has done a good job and I’m really excited to see what he’s got this year.”
